The Story Behind the Work
Drew Hendry spent almost a decade as the MP for Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch and Strathspey, in addition to his time as Leader of Highland Council, advocating for Highland businesses and communities at the highest levels of government. That experience - combined with years in the private sector - means he understands the real pressures businesses face. Not just the theory, but the day-to-day reality of leading a team, winning clients and making decisions with incomplete information.
Growth for Good began as a simple idea - create something genuinely useful for Highland businesses. Today, it's a podcast, a community and a framework that Drew uses to guide businesses towards growth that lasts. Drew brings the same rigour, curiosity and direct thinking to every engagement, whether that's a keynote, an advisory relationship or a podcast conversation.
What Drew Has Built
As Leader of the Highland Council from 2012 to 2015, Drew helped initiate the Inverness and Highland City Region Deal - a £315 million investment package that shaped the region’s infrastructure, digital connectivity, housing, and skills development for a decade.
He co-chaired the Inverness Castle Working Group, driving the early development of what has become the region’s flagship tourism and cultural regeneration project.
As MP, he championed Highland business interests at Westminster, secured Gigabit City status for Inverness, and remained actively involved in the City Region Deal through the Inverness Futures Group.
He founded teclan, a digital marketing agency based in Inverness, which he continues to direct alongside his advisory and podcast work.
